A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on Thursday 25 December, 1806 UT (13 Dec, 1806 Old Style), with maximum eclipse at 14:47 UT. This very subtle penumbral eclipse was essentially invisible to the naked eye; though it lasted 3 hours and 6 minutes, just 49% of the Moon's disc was in partial shadow (with no part of it in complete shadow).

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 3 hours and 6 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 14:47:52 UT.

During this eclipse the Moon was just 2 days before perigee, making it fairly large. At maximum eclipse it was 0.552° in apparent diameter, which is 3.9% larger than average.
