The cockpit Looking forward under the dodger (spray guard). The companionway is in the centre; to the left is the compass, and on the right are the depth gauge and knot meter. Below them is the bracket for the autopilot control unit, and its power socket on the left. Up above are the staysail sheet winches on either side; behind them are the outside speakers for the hi-fi, with an extension speaker for the marine VHF to the left of the right speaker. Through the dodger windows you can see the dinghy, which obscures the view somewhat, but you don't really sit in the centre.
