Cockpit port side and engine controls On the left is the port-side jib sheet winch, under the weather sheet on the lifelines. The little round hatch has a reserve propane cylinder (for the stove) underneath. The small footwell gets cramped quickly, but it means the boat gains virtually no weight when swamped (which I haven't seen happen yet!). In it at the bottom left is the socket for the shore power supply; a porthole leading into the engine room (for venting diesel fumes out of the boat); the engine gear / throttle lever; the phone socket; the cover over the manual bilge pump; and the engine control / indicator panel.
