A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 12 March, 0050 BC UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 04:27 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clipped the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This caused a microscopic darkening of just 16% of the Moon's disc for 1 hour and 51 minutes, which was essentially impossible to see.

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 1 hour and 51 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 04:27:10 UT.
