A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 16 May, 0379 BC UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 10:21 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clipped the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This caused a microscopic darkening of just 10% of the Moon's disc for 1 hour and 25 minutes, which was essentially impossible to see.

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 10:21:06 UT.
