Accuracy

Due to the erratic rotation of the Earth, the time and location of the eclipse cannot be forecast perfectly. This eclipse's time is estimated to be accurate ± 1h00m (with 95% confidence). A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 14 March, 1483 BC UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 21:42 UT. The Moon approached within 2% of the Earth's umbral shadow at maximum eclipse; 97% of the Moon's disc was partially shaded by the Earth, with the overall eclipse lasting 4 hours and 15 minutes. While less dramatic than a partial eclipse (as no part of the Moon was in complete shadow), a shading across the Moon should have been readily visible to observers.

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 4 hours and 15 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 21:42:55 UT.
