A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 17 March, 1855 BC UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 13:08 UT. This very subtle penumbral eclipse was essentially invisible to the naked eye; though it lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, just 31% of the Moon's disc was in partial shadow (with no part of it in complete shadow).

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 13:08:45 UT.
