A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 31 October, 1971 BC UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 20:27 UT. This very subtle penumbral eclipse was essentially invisible to the naked eye; though it lasted 3 hours and 30 minutes, just 48% of the Moon's disc was in partial shadow (with no part of it in complete shadow).

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes. Maximum eclipse was at 20:27:56 UT.
