A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurred on 8 July, 0689 UT Old Style, with maximum eclipse at 07:59 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clipped the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This caused a microscopic darkening of just 2% of the Moon's disc for 37 minutes and 54 seconds, which was essentially impossible to see.

The penumbral eclipse lasted for 37 minutes and 54 seconds. Maximum eclipse was at 07:59:52 UT.
