A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurs on Sunday 12 August, 2288 UT, with maximum eclipse at 20:04 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clips the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This will cause a microscopic darkening of just 9% of the Moon's disc for 1 hour and 18 minutes, which will be essentially impossible to see.

The penumbral eclipse lasts for 1 hour and 18 minutes. Maximum eclipse is at 20:04:10 UT.
