Accuracy

Due to the erratic rotation of the Earth, the time and location of the eclipse cannot be forecast perfectly. This eclipse's time is estimated to be accurate ± 23m25s (with 95% confidence). This equates to an error in longitude of ± 5 degrees, or around ± 608 km (378 miles) at the latitude of greatest eclipse.

A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurs on Thursday 8 June, 2552 UT, with maximum eclipse at 07:28 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clips the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This will cause a microscopic darkening of just 4% of the Moon's disc for 53 minutes and 48 seconds, which will be essentially impossible to see.

The penumbral eclipse lasts for 53 minutes and 48 seconds. Maximum eclipse is at 07:28:51 UT.
