A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurs on Saturday 31 May, 2960 UT, with maximum eclipse at 23:36 UT. In this extremely marginal eclipse, the Moon barely clips the edge of the Earth's penumbral shadow. This will cause a microscopic darkening of just 3% of the Moon's disc for 46 minutes and 6 seconds, which will be essentially impossible to see.
